SU graduates pursuing careers or graduate degrees in Europe met in Amsterdam on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at an event organized by Engin Dörttepe’04 (Economics) and Sinem Yücel’05 (Industrial Engineering).
Representing our university in the event were SU Alumni Relations and Career Development Manager Şule Yalçın and SU SoM Administrative Affairs Manager Ülkü Köknel. Şule Yalçın stated the importance of cooperation with alumni for improving international internship opportunities for current students, and a working group was set up among the alumni on this subject.
The working group was further divided into subgroups responsible for different aspects of improving internship opportunities focusing on:
Providing mentorship to students or graduates who intend to seek careers in Europe and reinforcing career support structure among alumni
- Facilitating communication among alumni in Europe
- Seeking ways to establish an official body of alumni in Europe
- Organizing regular events
